The Purity of Laughter

I can feel your words tracing

my time worn veins

like a jazz drummer

your beats

search

like sonar for lost

fragments

and the rhythm

of your breath

blows

life into these

time worn

veins

and I remember the

purity of your

laughter

and how it

made me

smile

Light

I walked out at my stop on the f train that morning

and saw him playing his plastic keyboard

filling the station with a soundtrack for

the new day

As I climbed the stairs I heard him say

I hope you fall

In love

And as I stepped into the sunlight

I realized I was laughing

and I am light

In Stereo

Listening to things in stereo

with four speakers

instead of two

while my quadraphonic

philosophical

thoughts

simmer

and the light in

my head

shimmers

we sat under

the green

shade

i remember your thoughts

and bubble gum

lips

there was no past so we

never looked

back

we just stared straight ahead

looking into the

future

and i remember thinking

there's going to be

a poem

there

Sow

I

Oh my dishonorable henchman

you come at a most inglorious

time

filled with filth, lies and dishonesty

and covered in a blanket of

honesty

but honestly, we would never ever

want to be like

you

II

your carbon footprint

is stuck in the

past

you’re killing the future

you know it can't

last

with sweat on your brow

your thoughts are

slow

as you weep in the darkness

and reap what you

sow

Red Swedish Candy Fish Flavored Dreams

We packed up the crock pot and stock pot along

with our nightly meals of red swedish

candy fish flavored dreams

we’re using only homeopathic medication

meditation and masturbation to sooth

our tight and tired muscles

we thank you for all the kind letters and

support over the years

we’ve left a note attached to the refrigerator

with a magnet that has a poem

about the benefits of oatmeal

along with our phone number in case

you need to get in touch

we’ve gone to a place where every table

has a bottle of red hot sauce

if you can handle it use it, a few shakes

will take you places

Forgot To Forget

On a chair by his bedside sat

all of his forgets and plans

along with the dreams

he forgot to

forget

patiently waiting for the

right moment

when they would quietly

add value to the

world
